Communications Officer

Communications Officer

 

CLEPA represents the European automotive supply industry, bringing together well over 120 of the world’s most prominent suppliers of car parts, systems and modules, linking the sector to policy makers and regulators. European automotive suppliers are world leaders in
automotive technology for safe, sustainable and smart mobility. This vibrant European sector employs 5 million citizens and has an annual turnover of 600 billion Euros. CLEPA seeks to proactively engage in the EU and UN decision making processes, shaping legislation and global technical harmonisation impacting the automotive business.

CLEPA is looking for a talented junior communications professional with a great pen and a creative ‘all hands on deck’ approach, for initially a 6-month contract at its Brussels headquarters.

 

What is the job offer?

The communications officer will assist the communications director in executing daily tasks  covering all external and internal communication activities of CLEPA.

 

Main tasks:

  • Content development
    • drafting and editing of articles, press releases, newsletters, web text,…
    • developing of publications, infographics, audio visuals,…
    • 360 degree approach to communication tools
  • Organisation of events
    • support in organising all external and internal events
    • follow up of budget, programme and speakers
    • delivering marketing support, logistics,…
  • Media relations
    • press contacts
    • media monitoring
    • active follow up of all social media
  • Supporting and administrative tasks
    • maintenance databases
    • sending newsletters and invitations
    • follow up participation trackers events

 

 

Who are we looking for?

For this fast paced role we prefer a candidate who already has some experience in working with European institutions and/or with associations.

 

 

Desired profile:

  • A degree in communications or public relations
  • Relevant experience in communications or public relations, media relations and event management
  • Affinity with the workings of the European Union and its institutions and an interest in the future of mobility
  • Strong communication skills and excellent English, both verbally and in writing (native speaker level preferred)
  • Good organisational skills
  • Flexible, customer oriented teamplayer with the ability to work independently
  • Outstanding IT skills and experience with content management systems (WordPress), social media networks and analytics, google analytics, search engine optimalisation, graphic design tools (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator,…), applications such as MailChimp, SurveyMonkey and Eventbrite, customer relations management systems and Office

Technical Regulations Manager

Technical Regulations Manager

CLEPA seeks to proactively engage in the EU and UN decision making process, shaping legislation impacting the automotive business as well as the development of coherent and consistent international trade and global technical harmonisation.

 

What is the job offer?

CLEPA is looking to hire a technical regulations manager to work at the Brussels headquarters.

Before parts, components and vehicles can enter the market, they must meet a high degree of technical, quality, safety and environmental requirements many of which are determined by EU law. The technical regulations manager will actively monitor technical regulations development in the automotive sector, facilitate technical working groups towards a shared industry position and present the common voice of the CLEPA members towards European and international institutions.

 

Main tasks:

  • Coordinate and facilitate association working groups and task forces on a variety of technologies and topics
  • Monitor European and international technical regulations development
  • Prepare and communicate the association’s positions to sectoral partners, institutions and
  •    stakeholders
  • Maintain good relations with government representatives and institutions such as the European Commission, the United Nations, standardisation institutes and other organisations
  • Organise and follow up international meetings
  • Manage files and documentation on technical and regulatory issues

 

Who are we looking for?

For this challenging role we prefer a candidate who has already a proven track in technical or regulatory affairs in an international industrial setting, but we are also open for a young potential who has the willingness to develop quickly.

 

Desired profile:

  • University degree in engineering, preferable electronic/electro-technical
  • Good understanding of the principles for system type-approval or technical product certification
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (additional knowledge of German is a plus)
  • Team player and consensus builder: ability to manage groups in a consensus-oriented way
  • Willingness to travel regularly on short trips mostly within the EU
