Technical Project Officer Connected & Automated Mobility

 

CLEPA represents the European automotive supply industry, bringing together well over 120 of the world’s most prominent suppliers of car parts, systems and modules, linking the sector to policy makers and regulators. European automotive suppliers are world leaders in automotive technology for safe, sustainable and smart mobility. This vibrant European sector employs 5 million citizens and has an annual turnover of 600 billion Euros.

CLEPA strives to be an active part of the EU research and deployment agenda. As such, CLEPA and its members are part of an important project in the innovative field of Connected and Automated Driving, which holds large promises for the development of safe, smart and sustainable transport.

 

What is the job offer?

CLEPA is looking to hire a technical project officer at its Brussels headquarters on initially a 2-year contract to support CLEPA and its members with defining, testing, evaluating and demonstrating technical specifications in the field of connected and automated driving, as part of the ENSEMBLE consortium.

 

The main tasks are to:

  • support the project manager and the chief technology officer with technical analysis, reporting, verification and implementation and other technical tasks related to the project (i.e. vehicle-to-vehicle communications interface, sensing the vehicle environment, driver interface, strategic use cases/services);
  • support the organisation, preparation and follow-up of internal and external meetings;
  • prepare reports, presentations and articles; support the project administration;
  • facilitate the good relations between members and partners of the project

 

Who are we looking for?

For this challenging role we look for a candidate who has solid technical knowledge in the fields important to connected and automated driving.

 

Desired profile:

  • Degree in electrical/mechanical engineering or similar with ideally good knowledge in the automotive mechatronics domain;
  • Hands-on, result-oriented, operational expert, able to deliver under time pressure;
  • Ability to work independently, able to offer and defend solutions convincingly;
  • Keen to work in a multinational environment, bringing partners and stakeholders together;
  • Deep interest in the workings of the research and innovation activities at European institutional level (Horizon2020);
  • Excellence in writing, editing and speaking English; good knowledge of other European languages is a plus;
  • Clear communicator and team player;
  • Availability to travel on short trips in Europe

Trade and Market Affairs Manager

This vibrant European sector employs 5 million citizens and has an annual turnover of 600 billion Euros.

CLEPA is actively involved in trade policy, automotive aftermarket and broader market access related topics. Securing the elimination of trade barriers and supporting fair and undistorted competition are among the association’s major objectives.

 

What is the job offer?
CLEPA is looking to hire a Market Affairs manager at its Brussels headquarters to support CLEPA and its members in all topics relating to trade policy, automotive aftermarket and market intelligence.

 

The main tasks are to:

  • Monitor and research the EU’s bilateral trade and investment negotiations with a view to analysing the impact on CLEPA members and inform policy makers and stakeholders as required;
  • Support members with strategic sector & market intelligence by gathering key figures and other relevant information on the automotive business environment, researching stakeholder and management consultancy studies and coordinating input commissioned from third parties.;
  • Actively maintain a relevant network and represent CLEPA’s positions and interests at meetings with the EU institutions and other stakeholders;
  • Organise and facilitate working group meetings with members;
  • Preparing briefing documents and presentations for internal and external meetings;
  • Support in the organisation of internal and external events

 

Who are we looking for?
For this challenging role we search for a candidate who already has experience in working on trade policy and/or strategic market intelligence either within an association or a company, ideally in the automotive industry or a related sector.

 

Desired profile:

  • Degree in economics and/or sales and marketing;
  • Around 3 years of relevant work experience;
  • Good knowledge and deep interest in the detailed workings of EU trade policy and instruments;
  • Good knowledge of the automotive and/or broader mobility sector;
  • Good analytical skills, strategic thinker with eye for detail;
  • Excellent English in writing, editing and speaking; working knowledge of German and other European languages is a plus;
  • Excellent communicator, strong relational skills, team player;
  • Availability to travel on short trips in Europe
