What is the job on offer?
CLEPA strives to be an active partner in developing Europe’s strategic research, innovation and new-mobility policies. CLEPA is looking for a driven, recognised professional to run the association’s R&I activities as well as formulate the organisation’s strategic technology vision, striving to shape a future-oriented automotive and mobility policy environment focussed on making mobility safe, sustainable and smart, as well as securing EU technology leadership and a competitive industry in Europe.

The main objectives are to:

  • drive the strategic understanding and forward-looking positioning of CLEPA on all technology trends related to mobility in the context of decarbonisation, air quality, circular economy, energy and resource efficiency, urbanisation, connectivity, automation, digital services, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, etc.;
  • reinforce the CLEPA work with solid knowledge, thought-leadership and strategic insight, actively engaging with the other members of the CLEPA team as well as the CLEPA membership, as relevant;
  • manage and develop the R&I activities of CLEPA, working with a small team as well as a number of CLEPA working groups;
  • actively contribute to the institutional and stakeholder R&I roadmaps in the fields of safe, smart and sustainable mobility as well as automotive manufacturing;
  • identify and facilitate funding opportunities at EU level in close coordination with member companies;
  • initiate and oversee selected EU project participation;
  • maintain and expand key relations with the EU institutions within and beyond the field of R&I, as well as with the relevant technology platforms, partnerships, platforms and sister associations, related industries and other relevant stakeholders;
  • be an ambassador for CLEPA, representing the association externally in stakeholder events and at other occasions, in particular in the fields of R&I and new mobility.

 Who are we looking for?
For this challenging and crucial role we look for a candidate who has at least 10 years of experience within the European research eco-system, ideally related to the automotive industry or new mobility, with a strong network and an analytical as well as political mind.

Desired profile:

  • Technical degree with relevant experience in Brussels and the European R&I eco-system in particular;
  • Excellent understanding of the workings of a multi-member and multi-national trade association;
  • Strategic thinker, keen to translate relevant trends and developments into opportunities for the association and its membership;
  • Natural team player, skilled consensus-builder;
  • Great communicator and networker;
  • Excellence in English; good knowledge of other European languages is a plus;
  • Availability to travel on short trips in Europe and abroad.

Internship(s) events & conferences and/or press relations

Internship(s) events & conferences and/or press relations

 

What is the offer?

CLEPA is looking for (a) trainee(s) to join the team in the Brussels headquarters for a period of 6 months, to support with the organisation of several events and conferences, as well as with the outreach to media on all issues related to safe, smart and sustainable mobility, technology leadership, and competitiveness of the industry.

Task will include:

  • To support all event organisation and logistics, from content development to liaising with contractors, database management, registration of participants and the related on-line and on-site activities;
  • To support running the CLEPA communications channels (website, social media, newsletters, papers, etc.);
  • To support handling day-to-day press relations, identifying media opportunities, organising briefings as well as drafting content and background material.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for (a) high-potential(s), able to develop quickly, with a keen interest in the future of mobility, industrial policy and the workings of the EU, as well as a clear affinity with a fast-paced, multinational environment.

As events organisation and press relations are quite distinct disciplines, we expressly invite candidates to apply for one or the other activity if that fits your profile best. Previous experience in either discipline is a clear asset.

Desired profile:

  • A degree in communications, events management and/or journalism
  • Strong organisational, multi-tasking and analytical skills
  • Self-starter, clear communicator and flexible team player
  • Great attention for detail
  • Good knowledge of information technology, database systems and office/events/communications management tools
  • Professional in writing and speaking English; knowledge of French, Dutch and/or German is a plus
