Technical Project Manager Automotive

 

CLEPA represents the European automotive supply industry, bringing together well over 120 of the world’s most prominent suppliers of car parts, systems and modules, linking the sector to policy makers and regulators. European automotive suppliers are world leaders in automotive technology for safe, sustainable and smart mobility. This vibrant European sector employs 5 million citizens and has an annual turnover of 600 billion Euros.
CLEPA, by means of its research & innovation working group, strives to be an active part of the EU research agenda, by defining common priorities and roadmaps for pre-competitive research, creating opportunities for member companies to participate in EU projects, participate in projects that bring value to CLEPA, and promote research results.

 

What is the job offer?

CLEPA is looking to hire a technical project manager at its Brussels headquarters on initially a 1-year contract to support CLEPA and its members in a major consortium in the field of connected and automated driving.

 

Main tasks:

  • prepare technical reports and presentations
  • support the chief technology officer and other members of the CLEPA team in the daily management of the EU project activities in the field of research and development;
  • organise, prepare and follow up consortium meetings, work package tasks and internal and external meetings;
  • maintain good relations with members of the organisation and partners of the project

 

Who are we looking for?

For this challenging role we look for a candidate who already has experience in working in the European research eco-system, but we are also open for a high potential just graduated from higher education.

 

Desired profile:

  • Strong technical background in the electronic and/or automotive automation domain, previous experience in the heavy-duty vehicle sector and with connected and automated driving is an asset
  • Good  skills of project management and liaising with other stakeholders focusing on achieving the expected results
  • Deep interest in the workings of the research and innovation activities at European institutional level
  • Excellence in writing, editing and speaking English
  • Good knowledge of at least two other European languages is a plus
  • Clear communicator and team player
  • Great orgniser, multi-tasker and time keeper
  • Availability to travel short trips in Europe

Technical Regulations Manager

Technical Regulations Manager

European automotive suppliers are world leaders in automotive technology for safe, sustainable and smart mobility. This vibrant European sector employs 5 million citizens and has an annual turn-over of 600 billion Euros.

CLEPA seeks to proactively engage in the EU and UN decision making process, shaping legislation impacting the automotive business as well as the development of coherent and consistent international trade and global technical harmonisation.

 

What is the job offer?

CLEPA is looking to hire a technical regulations manager to work at the Brussels headquarters.

Before parts, components and vehicles can enter the market, they must meet a high degree of technical, quality, safety and environmental requirements many of which are determined by EU law. The technical regulations manager will actively monitor technical regulations development in the automotive sector, facilitate technical working groups towards a shared industry position and present the common voice of the CLEPA members towards European and international institutions.

 

Main tasks:

  • Coordinate and facilitate association working groups and task forces on a variety of technologies and topics
  • Monitor European and international technical regulations development
  • Prepare and communicate the association’s positions to sectoral partners, institutions and
  •    stakeholders
  • Maintain good relations with government representatives and institutions such as the European Commission, the United Nations, standardisation institutes and other organisations
  • Organise and follow up international meetings
  • Manage files and documentation on technical and regulatory issues

 

Who are we looking for?

For this challenging role we prefer a candidate who has already a proven track in technical or regulatory affairs in an international industrial setting, but we are also open for a young potential who has the willingness to develop quickly.

 

Desired profile:

  • University degree in engineering, preferable electronic/electro-technical
  • Good understanding of the principles for system type-approval or technical product certification
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (additional knowledge of German is a plus)
  • Team player and consensus builder: ability to manage groups in a consensus-oriented way
  • Willingness to travel regularly on short trips mostly within the EU
