Working Group Technical Regulations activities: January- February 2016

The CLEPA Working Group on Technical Regulations (WG TR) held its first 2016 session on 18 and 19 February 2016 at CLEPA offices.

 

The WGTR reviewed and commented the new CLEPA WG organization as adopted by CLEPA Board of Directors. WG TR offered its support in the transition and implementation of the new structure and established ad-hoc task force to define a transition plan. The WG TR also reviewed status of following issues and established WG TR position for some of them:  Automated Driving, polluting emissions/CO2/ greenhouse gases, review of the UN 1958 Agreement and International Whole Vehicle Type Approval, Regulatory Convergence with the USA (TTIP), road safety, new draft EU Regulation on type-approval and market surveillance,  implementation of the UN 1998 Agreement, Radio Regulations, noise, briefing to the 168th  session of the World Forum for Harmonization of Vehicles Regulations (WP29) in March 2016.

 

An EU Motor Vehicles Working Group (MVWG) was held on 16 February 2016. The Automotive Unit of the EU Commission presented its work programme for 2016-2017, its new draft Regulation on type-approval and market surveillance, its intentions for the review of the General Safety Regulation and the draft delegated act to implement EU Regulation 2015/758 on eCall.
