Detroit, April 11, 2016: FTE automotive was a recipient of the 2016 PACE Award (Premier Automotive Suppliers’ Contribution to Excellence) in the category “Products“ for its low pressure transmission dry-sump lubrication oil pump assembly. In addition FTE automotive was recognized with the PACE Innovation Partnership Award for its work with Audi acknowledging the positive collaboration and importance of strong relationships required to commercialize automotive innovations.

Dr. Uwe Krüger, President and CEO, FTE automotive North America, accepted the award on behalf of FTE automotive during the award ceremony held April 11 at the Max M. Fisher Music Center in Detroit. “It is a big honor to receive this prestigious award second time in succession. To be recognized for our innovative products and our customer partnership with Audi means a lot to our company“, said a delighted Uwe Krüger.

FTE´s lubrication oil pump was developed in close cooperation with Audi. It is being used in Audi’s new 7-speed double clutch transmission, which is installed in the A4, A5, A6 and Q5 models. The pumps can be switched “on” and “off” on demand. They are primarily built from engineered thermoplastic and thermoset materials which are carefully chosen to withstand the harsh environment inside today’s automotive transmissions.

The PACE Award judges were impressed by FTE’s innovative lubrication oil pump design that features light weight, high efficiency and cost advantages in a surprisingly small package. The lubrication pump is a key component in the dry sump lubrication system which increases transmission efficiency thus resulting in a reduction of fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
