EU’s twin Green and Digital transition at the centre of CLEPA Innovation Awards Ceremony 2023
The 2023 CLEPA Innovation Awards are set to take place in Brussels on 18 October, in a special ceremony aimed at celebrating innovative excellence and pioneering technologies by automotive suppliers. The event, in its 8th edition, will focus on advancements in the twin Green and Digital transition in the EU, with special attention to the software-defined vehicle.
Key role of automotive suppliers in the Green and Digital transition of the EU
The automotive supply industry, invests €30 billion in R&D every year, developing innovative solutions for the mobility of tomorrow. Innovative technologies have assumed an unprecedented role in the advancement of the twin Green and Digital transition of Europe. As the world grapples with the urgent need to improve air quality and combat climate change, automotive suppliers are redirecting investments to adapt their product portfolios, elevate their production plants and reskill their workforce towards the green transformation. In parallel, the integration of software and hardware brings cutting-edge technology to life. Here suppliers are responsible for new mobility services and functions that make vehicles smarter than ever.
These contributions to the twin transition are recognised by the awards categories Digital and Green. Companies from across the automotive supply chain applied for the Innovation Awards competition earlier this year. The submissions were reviewed by a Jury composed of international experts and selected among a considerable number of applications. During the ceremony on 18 October, CLEPA will unveil and celebrate the achievements of these Top Innovators, which include large companies and small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
Prominent guests and Top Innovators
Introducing the Green competition category, CLEPA is honoured to have Ms Rosalinde van der Vlies, Clean Planet Director at the European Commission, covering topics such as R&I needs for road transport, global competition and collaboration, as well as education and skills development.

The 2023 CLEPA Innovation Awards ceremony promises to be a night filled with anticipation, as attendees will witness the announcement of this year’s Top Innovators. Each award represents not only recognition for the recipient but also a symbol of progress in an industry that plays a significant role in shaping the future of transportation.
