Further development of safety systems is a prerequisite for autonomous driving – ZF
System supplier ZF sees vehicle safety as an enabler for automotive Megatrends.
Complex demands for vehicle safety will have to be addressed for new vehicle designs and uses of the interior space. Without taking safety into consideration, autonomous vehicles and e-mobility will not take hold of the market. This theory was presented by Dr Stefan Sommer, CEO of ZF Friedrichshafen AG, in his keynote speech at the CAR-Symposium 2017 on 1 February in Bochum. ZF is one of the pioneers among the automotive suppliers. By taking over TRW Automotive, the system provider also has the most comprehensive portfolio of active and passive safety technologies.
