TRA2022: CLEPA took part in the key event on R&I work in the transport sector in Lisbon

The latest in the series of biannual Transport Research Arena (TRA) conferences, the largest European research and technology conference was held 14-17 November in Lisbon, covering all road, rail and waterborne mobility modes.

Organised with the direct support of the European Commission, this year’s event, titled “Moving together – reimagining mobility worldwide”, was very well attended, with many of the key stakeholders involved in cooperative Research & Innovation at the European level, including many CLEPA members together with the CLEPA R&I team, attending and joining the lively discussions. The CLEPA R&I team had a dedicated space in the Poster Area, presenting on the importance of advanced materials for the future of the automotive industry, and on latest technology developments in the fields of hydrogen and battery systems.

With its principal focus being on more efficient, safer, carbon-free, inclusive, and sustainable transport in all its modes, the principal themes of TRA2022 were Green Mobility & Decarbonisation, Smart Solutions & Society, Innovative Infrastructure for Europe 2030, Policies & Economics for a Competitive Europe. Correspondingly, during the various high-level plenaries and scientific/technical sessions, researchers, policymakers and industry representatives contributed actively to the debate on how research and innovation is reshaping the transport and mobility system.

TRA2022 proved to be a great opportunity to hear about mobility trends in different parts of Europe, learn from achievements in industry, and exchange on best practices in terms of policy and deployment.
