President Barack Obama Visits ZF NAIAS Booth
Detroit. ZF was the only automotive supplier to host President Barack Obama at its North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) booth during his visit to Detroit on January, 20. The company demonstrated its advanced technologies that improve vehicle efficiency and safety and makes automated driving a reality.
“ZF is honored to have had the opportunity to educate President Obama on the technology that is shaping the future of transportation,” said Dr. Franz Kleiner, member of ZF’s Board of Management responsible for North America and CEO of ZF TRW.
“The innovations we have on display at the NAIAS support our push of development in the direction of automated driving and powertrain electrification.” In his first-ever visit to NAIAS, President Obama toured the show making stops at several exhibitors not only paying ZF a visit, but also Chevrolet, FCA and Ford.
Technologies that were demonstrated for President Obama included ZF products that are already enabling vehicles to see, think and act autonomously as well as other advanced safety systems.
As its first appearance in the U.S. at the NAIAS since the acquisition of TRW, ZF is demonstrating the potential of technology integration by displaying a comprehensive product portfolio for intelligent mechanics. Already the company has hosted in its booth thousands of international media and automotive industry professionals, hundreds of eager engineering students, and looks forward to welcoming consumers during the remainder of the week.
