Futurmotive – Expo & Talks and FAAS to launch first FAAS Sustainability Day in Bologna

The Forum on Automotive Aftermarket Sustainability chose Bologna Exhibition Centre for its inaugural Sustainability Day, on November 17th.

Sustainability will be front and centre this year in Bologna. Futurmotive – Expo & Talks, the international exhibition on  the future of mobility, for energy and ecological transition and innovation in the automotive industry, scheduled for November 16th-18th at the Bologna Exhibition Centre, will also host the Forum on Automotive Aftermarket Sustainability (FAAS) for its annual Plenary Meeting as well as the inaugural FAAS Sustainability Day on November 17th.

The FAAS, a project initiated by the leading European Associations CLEPA (European Association of Automotive Suppliers) and FIGIEFA (European Association of Automotive Parts Distributors), announced early this summer the establishment of a legally registered, non-profit European association. 28 prominent companies, including automotive suppliers and parts wholesalers, have already joined the initiative, with the aim of developing synergies, collaborations, and activities to drive the sustainable transition of the European aftermarket sector.

Futurmotive – Expo & Talks, the event organised by Autopromotec, and the FAAS will partner for the organisation of the first FAAS Sustainability Day, which will be hosted in  Bologna during the esteemed exhibition. The Sustainability Day aims at bringing together the automotive aftermarket ecosystem leaders and innovators, providing opportunities for knowledge sharing, network building, and the exploration of cutting-edge green innovations. The four sessions on emissions reduction, green services, and sustainable logistics will lead participants on an exciting and insightful journey towards a green aftermarket ecosystem, paving the way for the sustainable transition of the sector.

Sylvia Gotzen, Chief Executive of FIGIEFA stated: “The first FAAS Sustainability Day will be the opportunity to expand on the topics that are driving today’s agenda at all levels: from decarbonisation to new green products, from operations to value chain, this years’ edition will be the opportunity to learn from the experts and establish long-lasting connections that will drive the industry in the years to come.

Frank Schlehuber, CLEPA’s Senior Consultant Market Affairs: “We are now approaching an important milestone for the FAAS: the shift from an initiative to a Non-Profit International Association representing and supporting the Automotive Aftermarket towards more sustainable business practices. Let’s make the FAAS the forum to leverage all the creativity and relevant synergies that will boost the sustainability performance of our sector and make it fit for the future!

Renzo Servadei, CEO of Autopromotec: “We are honoured to have the opportunity to host such an important event for the entire automotive ecosystem during Futurmotive – Expo & Talks. We share a common perspective on the future of the industry, and an equal enthusiasm for teaming up, combining different knowledge and experiences. I think that Futurmotive – Expo & Talks will be the perfect framework for the beginning of FAAS activities.”

Emanuele Vicentini, in charge of International Developments for Autopromotec, underlined that: “The theme of sustainability is extremely relevant in every action we experience on a daily basis, and certainly also for the automotive aftermarket sector who involves companies exhibiting in Futurmotive Expo & Talks as well as Autopromotec. At the same time, trade shows are also developing processes to make them more responsive to the concepts of sustainability, under environmental, social and governance perspective. Finally, the FAAS Symposium brings great internationality to the “Futurmotive Expo & Talks” project and this makes us very happy.”

The agenda for the FAAS Sustainability Day will include prominent panels and presentations, with guest speakers such as Bosch, LKQ, BCG, IBM and many others, focusing on vital topics and challenges while highlighting the innovations necessary to achieve net-zero and other sustainability objectives. Participants will have the opportunity to network with their peers, valued customers, trusted suppliers, and innovative start-ups from across Europe and beyond.

All attendees will also have the chance to discover the best innovations showcased by Futurmotive – Expo and Talks exhibitors and speakers, benefitting from important international networking and business opportunities.
