DIGITALEUROPE: Masters of Digital
On 5 April, CLEPA CEO Paul Schockmel participated in DIGITALEUROPE’s inaugural ‘Masters of Digital’ Conference in Brussels. Held almost one year after the European Commission launched its Digital Single Market strategy, the Conference allowed DIGITALEUROPE to examine and evaluate the most important elements of the initiative.
With speakers from some of the industry’s most dynamic companies, participants were able to able to learn about the economic impact of a variety European Commission led issues such as standardisation, platforms, network development, consumer policy, digital skills and the free flow of data. Industry stressed that Europe must change its approach and move away from looking at the risks & problems of new technologies rather than embracing the opportunities.
Mr Schockmel presented and participated in the panel debate “Bankers, bakers and makers” with Daniel Azevedo, Senior Policy Advisor at COPA – Cogeca and Wim Mijs, Chief Executive, European Banking Federation.
