CLEPA appoints new CEO

Mr Peter Tyroller, CLEPA President, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Jean-Marc Gales as the new CLEPA CEO with effect from 2nd April 2012.

“I am honoured and excited to have been given the opportunity to lead CLEPA during the upcoming times of changes in the automotive industry” said Mr Gales.

Born in 1962, Mr Jean-Marc Gales is a native of Luxembourg and currently the Member of the Managing Board of PSA Peugeot Citroën and Executive Vice-President Brands. He has spent most of his career in the automobile industry, notably with Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, General Motors and BMW.

Mr Tyroller commented: “We are delighted to welcome Jean-Marc to CLEPA. He brings immense business experience and I am confident he will continue the solid track record of Mr Lars Holmqvist, who is retiring after eight years at the helm of the European Association of Automotive Suppliers. With his enthusiasm and professionalism he has increased the visibility and the profile of CLEPA as one of the main trusted interlocutor with the EU Institutions and the United Nations”.

Mr Holmqvist concluded: “I wish to thank all CLEPA Members for their support and ask them to support Jean-Marc in the same way. I have full confidence in Mr Gales’s global leadership capabilities based on his experience, his knowledge of the automotive industry and his ability to convince and to engage people. These skills will be crucial for achieving CLEPA’s forward-looking goals”.
