CETA making progress at the European Parliament

On the 24th of January, the members of the Committee for International Trade of the European Parliament backet the CETA, the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement between the European Union and Canada.

In addition to the opinions adopted by AFET, ENVI and EMPL Committees, Members have discussed the details around the powers of the Joint Committee to be set up by the agreement and appointment of judges for the CETA Investment Court.

Plenary debate and vote on CETA is expected during the mid-February session.
