An online workshop organised by CLEPA and supported by ERTICO and VDI/VDE-IT next 16 June will focus on Vehicle Technologies for Connected, Cooperative and Automated Mobility (CCAM), in the context of the ARCADE Project (Aligning Research & Innovation for Connected and Automated Driving in Europe).

The aim is to provide a perspective on the current state-of-the-art and expected developments over the coming years based on relevant first-hand experience and expertise from different stakeholders directly involved in the development and implementation of Vehicles Technologies in Europe and from around the world. The need for international cooperation regarding standards and regulations will also be addressed.

The workshop will begin with an introductory session and a presentation by the European Commission Directorate-General for Research and Innovation, followed by industry experts presenting the CCAM Partnership and related EU funded projects, such as the Mobility. E Lighthouse COSMOS project, which is organising an event on collaboration for Electric, Connected and Automated Mobility on the following day.

This will be followed by two technical sessions, with the first one focusing on environment perception, decision making and artificial intelligence, moderated by Gereon Meyer (VDI/VDE-IT) and Margriet van Schijndel (TU Eindhoven). The second session will address aspects of safety in connected and automated mobility such as human-machine interaction, human factors, life-on-board and inclusiveness, and will be moderated by David Storer (CLEPA) and Peter Urban (IKA – RWTH Aachen).
