CLEPA advocates for a comprehensive framework on CO2 Standards for heavy-duty-vehicles

CLEPA has finalised the developing a position paper on CO2 standards for heavy-duty vehicles.

The key messages that the automotive supply industry will promote are the need to have a comprehensive framework with the HDV standards linking to other regulations (i.e. AFIR), implementation of a life-cycle analysis or well-to-wheel approach, a single target for each OEM for higher flexibility when choosing the technologies, and clearer definitions in incentives to zero- and low-emission vehicles.

The proposal is expected to be adopted by the European Commission on 30 November, however, CLEPA remains active and keeps an open dialogue with the European Commission and other stakeholders involved with the aim to co-create a workable regulation.
