CLEPA participated at the 13th Congress of the Automotive Industry and Market (SDCM)

The Congress of the Automotive Industry and Market is an annual event organised by the Polish Association of Automotive Parts Distributors and Producers (SDCM). Held in Warsaw on November 7 and 8 2018, the event was co-organised by the Polish Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Technology.

During the two days of the event, numerous discussion panels concerning the automotive sector, networking sessions and B2B meetings took place. Speakers from varied backgrounds and institutions, such as Polish Investment and Trade Agency, Polish Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Technology, European organisations CLEPA, FIGIEFA and APRA, provided their insights and future outlook on the industry. Specially dedicated sessions addressed women in the automotive sector and persons with disabilities. The exhibition of Industry 4.0, together with the most interesting start-ups of the sector, provided a sneak-peak into the future.

CLEPA was proud to be able to actively participate at the event with two presentations. In the session titled “Aftermarket 2025”, Frank Schlehuber, Director of Aftermarket, spoke about the aftermarket market on the path of transformation. Mariola Hauke, Manager Technical Regulations, covered legal challenges in the session titled “Automotive industry in a maze of legal changes”.

In line with the organisation of the event, SDCM also announced their report on the scale of the Polish automotive industry and market, with the analysis of the problems, megatrends and legal regulations affecting the automotive field. The report outlines that the automotive sector constitutes an important part of the Polish economy. In 2017 the value of marketed production of the Polish automotive industry reached over PLN 145 billion, with spare parts and accessories contributing nearly 60% of it. Due to extensive production background, good infrastructure, highly-qualified staff, as well as attractive location, the Polish potential is valued by many foreign companies. The report will be distributed among SDCM Members, Polish decision-makers, MPs and MEPs.

SDCM – Polish Association of Automotive Parts Distributors and Producers brings together over 100 of the prominent suppliers of car parts and largest distributors of spare parts in Poland. SDCM is a Polish voice of the automotive industry.
