CLEPA Board approves three new members

On September 28, 2016, the CLEPA Board of Directors gathered at Paris and approved the membership of three new members: Adient, Guardian Industries and NVIDIA.

 

Adient

Johnson Controls will spin off its Automotive Seating and Interiors Business into an independent public company called Adient which will be listed on the New York Stock Exchange on October 31, 2016.

 

Adient will be a global leader in the $60 billion automotive seating market, with approximately 75000 employees in 230 locations across 33 countries.  With $20 billion in consolidated annual revenues, Adient will deliver 25 million seating systems used on more than 360 vehicle nameplates around the globe.  Adient will also have a minority stake in Yanfeng Automotive Interiors, a leading supplier of instrument panels, cockpit systems, door panels, floor consoles and overhead consoles.

 

Adient’s EU footprint will comprise 70+ locations: besides the production facilities, there will be 7 European Development Centers as well as 7 Regional Engineering Offices.

 

Guardian Industries

Guardian Industries is a privately held company of US origin: the headquarters are located in Troy, Michigan. Guardian Industries has automotive production locations in North-America, Asia and Europe.

 

Guardian’s automotive operations comprise 2 business units:

  • SRG Global: a worldwide electroplating leader, plating virtually any plastic base in a wide variety of finishes;
  • Guardian Glass: producer of float & specialty glass

 

NVIDIA

NVIDIA is a world leader in visual computing.  Starting off as a standard PC graphics chip company, NVIDIA nowadays serves four very large markets — Gaming, Professional Visualisation, Datacenter and Automotive — where visual computing is essential.  NVIDIA is vertically integrated and brings together Graphics Processing Units (GPUs), system software, algorithms and services. NVIDIA’s automotive portfolio focuses on digital cockpits abd autonomous driving.
